Week in Pictures

Slightly delayed as I’ve had a few other things on my mind… đŸ™‚

Getting my mom outfitted/veiled up to check out our beehive. It was her first time and she loved it. Our hive’s honeybees are continuing to build comb, yay!

I was trying SO hard to hold off on watching the new season of Orange is the New Black but could not help myself. I think I watched 7 hours in a row a few nights ago, til my eyes were red. I just love the show and all of the great characters. Well, except Laura Prepon whose character is super flat and dull – not to mention she’s a crazy fucking Scientologist in real life. And let me tell you, if you are a fan hurry up and watch and let me know what you thought of the last 2 episodes…talk about unexpected! anyhow, then during a night shift of Dan’s I ended up marathon Netflixing Being Mary Jane – gotta love Gabrielle Union, she’s both flawed and a badass…love her!

Playing around with the macro on my new Nexus 6P phone on a bouquet of roses and cosmos my husband picked from the garden…wow!

Our $4 hummingbird feeder!! After being reminded  by my mom that the best way to keep birds from stripping your blueberries are to put hummingbird feeders nearby (they are territorial around their feeders so no other birds have a chance…kinda cool eh?), Dan and I biked down to the Backyard Bird Shop and bought the red cork/feeder tube combo and then after Dan cut a hole in the lid and filled it with sugar water – BAM! He’s even gotten squawked at by one of the birds who discovered it. Noice đŸ™‚

    1. Yeah we totally want to add the birds, but for us the bees just came first (I hear a joke coming…). We keep postponing chickens & ducks because we’d need to make sure to have a sitter for them if we go out of town…we’ll see though, I love fresh eggs!

  1. Great pics! My husband is the one with green fingers in our household – he LOVES his veggie plot & finds it very relaxing. I just love the spoils of his labours! I would love to have bees, I think they are great. Hope you do get chickens & ducks one day, they are great (especially ducks)! My grandparents used to have them when I was little – I remember the ducks being very sociable creatures.
Hope today went well (transfer day, right?) thinking of you and hoping for good things xx
