Still thinking about our dinner at Mucca Osteria where we celebrated Dan’s birthday. Here’s what we had: 1) Antipasto: charcuterie plate and Capesante Scottate con Fonduta di Parmigiano (Seared Sea Scallops, Truffle-Parmesan Fondue), 2) Dinner: Dan had Casoncelli del Plin (Handmade Ravioli Filled with Lamb, Veal, Prosciutto, Kale and Mascarpone), and I had Pappardelle al Cinghiale (Pappardelle with Slow Braised Wild Boar Ragù), 3) Dessert: Vanilla Pannacotta and Tiramisu, 4) Wine: we’ve been off all alcohol since prepping for the donor egg, so we splurged on just a glass each of Gasparini Venegazzù (blend of CabFranc/Merlot/Malbec). A truly gorgeous meal with a wonderful waitstaff. (image source)
Our sunrise walks at the coast were so lovely – and coming home to a rainy weekend, we appreciated this getaway even more!
Dan & I have been talking about taking a cooking class for SO long, and so for his birthday present, I registered us for a Persian Immersion interactive class over at Hipcooks on Williams. He was so stoked as we love Persian food and my recent attempts at Middle Eastern cuisine (dolma mahshi, shakshuka) have needed some, well, improvement!! Plus, hey, it was fun to give him an experiential gift (the best kind in my opinion!!!). 🙂
Our begonias have bloomed! Love flowers that love shade!
One morning’s harvest of tomatoes and peppers. Hot sauce and marinara on the to-do list for this weekend!
After a chilly spell, the warm days of late summer have returned, and we got some li’l Maine lobster tails and grilled them with herb butter and sweet potatoes. YUM!
