husband’s been wanting me to make my homemade yeast bread for so long he finally just lugged a sack of flour and jar of yeast home. Rather than go for the standard loaf I pulled out my oldie-but-goodie Good Housekeeping cookbook and made these herb loaves with rosemary from the garden. Pretty simple, rose beautifully (wrapped the dough in a towel and set it on the front porch to bask in the sun’s warmth), and with a little butter and jam? YUM. Gluten holiday 🙂
My husband is keeping our house stocked with flowers from the garden – gotta love this man! Here are a few of our irises just beginning to bloom 🙂
Gorgeous, near-perfect romaine lettuce. So in love with this that the latest harvest of arugula and kale for salads instead went to the neighbors while we nosh on this 🙂

and..voila! I cut my hair off! Hadn’t set foot in a salon since 2013 and my hair was nearing “mermaid status” and automatically going into ponytail mode – so I decided to get it all chopped off. Hubby went down the street to the barber for a cut at the same time but needless to say mine was way more dramatic. This just-above-the-chin is the shortest I’ve had it (beyond a very big mistake in the mid 80’s) and it feels great!
