Weekend in Pictures

While it's freezing back east, here in Oregon it's been unseasonably mild, with temps going into the low 60's for several days in a row! Here you can see our rhubarb is already starting to make itself known!

Our backyard garden we redesigned to accommodate more beds is looking sharp with another load of mulch we got in to fill in the paths (yay for free chips from arborists!).

We dumped our partially finished compost on a couple beds when we were building the new bin, and therefore two beds are covered with burlap coffee bags (that we got for free from a local cafe/roaster) so that it will be black gold by spring 🙂

And miss Ruby, well she loves this sunny spot in the garden where she gets all happy woozy and warm :)

As for me, my back is on the mend nicely but of course I woke up over the weekend with the "uh-oh" feeling and now am in full cold mode. Thank god for elderberry syrup, the only thing that truly works to soothe my throat! That and my favorite lemon/ginger tea :) (image source)

We are buried in snow so nothing is growing here, it’s nice to see your rhubarb popping up, gives me hope it won’t be long before spring arrives here. I’ve been suffering from a rotten cold this week too. Wish I had some of that elderberry syrup.
