C’est Moi…

aimee1

My name is Aimee, which means beloved in French.  I’m a work in progress, focusing every day on owning who I am, and giving back to the world through my professional, community and personal relationships. Married to Dan in 2014, my best friend and love of my life, we live in a 1925 urban homestead in my hometown of Portland, Oregon, with our big beautiful garden and four ducks. We would love to have a family, but our efforts thus far have been thwarted after 2 IUIs, 6 rounds of DEIVF, and losing a baby, along with Ethiopia closing their doors after 2 weeks waiting for a little one there. We are currently 7 months into the domestic adoption process, crossing our fingers that a birth mother will choose us so we can finally see this dream come true…

In 2012, after fourteen years in the HR field, I left my nine-to-five job as a talent acquisition manager at a rapidly growing software startup to start my own consulting business, helping small companies with fewer resources manage their recruiting needs, spend more time career coaching, and enjoy the time I’d been long craving to work more on community and environmental issues that are close to my heart. Almost 6 years later, things are going well and I couldn’t imagine myself going back to a typical 9 to 5 job!
