sunflower

ever feel yourself being opened in spite of your best efforts, your layers peeled back, very slowly and sweetly?  close your eyes.  now open them.  go with it…embrace it…life is short…

I’d rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck.
~Emma Goldman

Flowers really do intoxicate me.  ~Vita Sackville-West

A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love.    ~ Max Muller

When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.
~ Georgia O’Keeffe

I love love love flowers (all kinds) and I love when my boyfriend surprises me with them. I would have flowers any day over jewelry or other things. Sunflowers and daisies are my favorites!

brittany – i agree with you one hundred percent! i'm such a sucker for a handful of one flower (rather than those assortments), like tulips or lilacs or daisies. my neighbor has this gorgeous bunch of daisies growing in her yard – jealous 🙂

lyrical – yes diamonds dont smell quite as good do they? i love a great smelling deep red rose..sigh..i have these ones called 'beloved' in my yard that i just want to sleep in 🙂
